Is the “Hottest Girl in America” coming to Capitol Hill? Not so fast.

A Tuesday evening press release published by PR Newswire announced that the winner of Girls Gone Wild’s “Search for the Hottest Girl in America” would land in an unlikely place: an office on Capitol Hill.

Not only would she win the coveted title of “Hottest Girl in America,” she would also get a four-week internship in the office of Arkansas Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor.

According to the release, Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis bought an internship with the senator at a private auction.

The release quoted Francis saying: “At this time more than ever, women need strong representation in Washington. Women’s issues and rights have been completely assaulted by the Republican candidates during this year’s Republican primaries.”

He continued, “I felt there was no better way to empower women than to send the winner of Girls Gone Wild’s ‘Search for the Hottest Girl in America’ contest to Washington D.C.”

Ethical concerns aside, taking one’s bikini top off and kissing your sorority sister hardly makes someone qualified for an internship on Capitol Hill. (Or does it?)

Pryor’s office claims that the press release is a fake.

“This release is a hoax. This office does not sell, auction or donate internships. Internship positions are determined through an extensive application process,” Pryor’s press secretary, Lisa Ackerman, said in a statement to TheDC.

“Unfortunately, as Mark Pryor moves into the 2014 election cycle this is the kind of stupid, out-of-left field attacks you will see.”

UPDATE: Sen. Pryor’s office issued an updated statement late Wednesday afternoon that says it will pursue legal action against someone they believe impersonated the senator and used the Senate seal.

“Our office does not sell, auction or donate internships. We believe someone outside Senator Pryor’s office has broken the law by fraudulently impersonating a U.S. Senator, fraudulently attempting to sell a government position and using the Senate seal without authorization. We have asked the FBI to fully investigate who is perpetrating this fraud against the senator and the U.S. Senate.”
