In remarks from this month that aired Sunday on Charlotte CBS affiliate WBTV, pastor Charles L. Worley from Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., told his congregation that gays and lesbians should be enclosed in a giant electrified fence so that they would die off without reproducing.

Worley, whose church is about an hour from Charlotte, said after North Carolina voters approved a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage that he was “disappointed” in President Barack Obama’s support for the practice.

“I’ve never been as sick in my life of our president getting’ up and saying it was alright for two women to marry or two men to marry,” Worley said. “I can tell you right now, I was disappointed bad. I’ll tell you right there, it’s as sorry as you can get. The Bible is against, God’s against, I’m against and if you’ve got any sense you’re against.”

“I had a way … I figured a way out — a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers — but I couldn’t get it past the Congress,” he said.

“Build a great big, large fence — 50- or a 100-miles long — and put all the lesbians in there. Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals. And have that fence electrified so they can’t get out, feed them. And you know what, in a few years, they’ll die out. You know why? They can’t reproduce.”

According to the WBTV report, a group called Catawba Valley Against Hate is planning to protest Worley’s remarks in the town of Maiden on Sunday.
