Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson is apparently willing to support presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Adelson spokesman Ron Reese told The Daily Caller, “I think it is fair to say that Mr. Adelson will be supporting Gov. Romney over President Obama.”

During the Republican primary season, Adelson and his family poured over $20 million into the coffers of Winning Our Future — the super PAC supporting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

The day after Gingrich’s May 2 decision to drop out of the race, Reese declined to say if Adelson would support Romney.

“Mr. Adelson does not provide commentary regarding his political activities,” Reese told TheDC in a May 3 email.

Adelson is widely believed to be refocusing his attention on the Nevada Senate race between Republican Sen. Dean Heller and Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley.

Berkley, once a close friend of Adelson, had a bitter falling out with the casino magnate.

In a rare public discussion during the final weeks of the Republican primary race, Adelson made clear that he wasn’t impressed with Romney.

“The problem with Romney — he’s not the bold decision-maker like Newt Gingrich is,” Adelson said in late March, after it had become apparent that Gingrich would not win the nomination.

In his commentary, published by JewishJournal.com, Adelson said, “Every time I talk to [Romney] he says, ‘Well, let me think about it.'”

“He’s like Obama,” Adelson said. “When Obama was in the Illinois Senate, 186 times he voted present because he didn’t want to establish a record for himself.”
