Video footage of a child singing an anti-gay song at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Ind., is sparking national controversy.

The video that first appeared on the church’s Facebook page shows a toddler-aged boy singing “ain’t no homo gonna make it to heaven.”

The footage shows the child finishing and the congregation giving him a standing ovation. A man who is reportedly the child’s father then shouts, “That’s my boy!”

WISH-TV8 in Indianapolis reported that the church’s pastor, Jeff Sangi, failed to respond to multiple requests for comment. The station sent a reporter to the church Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when a Bible study was scheduled, but the building was empty and the front door was padlocked.

Some community members told WISH that they were shocked that parents and clergy would use a toddler to perform a song with a controversial message.

“Just kind of sad they used a little boy,” Tammy Skyles said. “They don’t know what he’s going to grow up to be.”

David Hoffman added, “The child is not old enough to make those decisions and know what he is reciting in front of the congregation.”
