President Obama is out with a new TV ad, ripping Mitt Romney for not giving a straight answer on whether, if elected, he would repeal the new policy on immigration. The ad ends with a blue screen and large letters asking “7 Days and Counting…Why won’t he give a straight answer?”
That’s a pretty good question. But what about Obama? Even though the president told Neil Munro seven days ago that the time wasn’t right to answer questions — has he answered any at all about it in the seven days since?
Talk about chutzpah.
And talk about a press corps totally asleep at the wheel. Are they too busy taking notes and nodding along to ask questions? Or is the afterglow from Nerd Prom still keeping them docile?
And so, let me ask the question in the most diplomatic way possible:
Mr. President, with a struggling economy — and a high unemployment rate — what do you have to say to American citizens who believe your decision to allow some illegal immigrants to remain in the country might harm their economic futures?
