Politico’s White House correspondent suspended for race-baiting, penis joke

Font Size:

Hey, remember when all those lefties were screaming at Tucker to fire Neil Munro for annoying Obama with questions he didn’t want to answer? (And still hasn’t, incidentally.) Remember how they said Munro was destroying journalism with his rudeness and incivility and stuff? Do you remember that?

Fortunately, we have highly professional news outlets like Politico.com to show us how it’s done. John Nolte reports:

Politico, the unofficial web-branch of MSNBC, and whose staff spends more time on MSNBC than Chris Matthews, has a so-called reporter named Joseph Williams who all but called Mitt Romney a racist on Martin Bashir’s show today.

Williams says declaratively that Romney is only comfortable around white people…

Oh, and he also makes penis jokes about Ann Romney.

Here’s the best part: Williams is Politico’s White House correspondent.

Although that might be in the past tense, as Poynter.org reports:

Politico has suspended its White House correspondent, Joe Williams, for remarks he made on Martin Bashir’s MSNBC show Thursday. Williams’ “comment about Governor Romney earlier today on MSNBC fell short of our standards for fairness and judgment in an especially unfortunate way,” Politico editors John Harris and Jim VandeHei wrote in a memo to staff. The remarks, Politico notes (though for some reason doesn’t link), were highlighted by John Nolte on Breitbart.

Nolte also cited Williams’ tweets joking about Romney’s wealth and the infamous “Seamus incident,” among others. Williams has protected his Twitter account, so I don’t know if other candidates appealed to his sense of humor.

A week ago, the lot of libs yelled at Neil Munro for daring to speak directly to Obama without paying the requisite $40,000 fee. Now they’re going to yell at Politico for suspending their WH correspondent, just because he called a presidential candidate a racist for disagreeing with him politically. And, okay, so maybe he made a dick joke about that candidate in public.

And if you have something to say about the double standard without which lefties cannot function: Shut up, racist.

P.S. More fun for everyone who doesn’t work at Politico.

P.P.S. Noel Sheppard has what I assume is a rhetorical question: “Will there be any disciplinary action taken by MSNBC against Bashir for tacitly agreeing with Williams’s comments Thursday by not challenging them?”

P.P.P.S. Nolte follows up:

You had better read this quick, because unless it’s a Daily Caller reporter standing on the shoulders of “giants” to interrupt the President of the United States with a question or a Daily News photographer being shoved around by the star of a low-rated sitcom, the corrupt media protects its own…

Poor Joseph Williams. He has to be wondering what the hell’s going on right now. Here he works for an outlet that over the years has become one with MSNBC and he’s catching a suspension for race and class-baiting.

That’s like being sent to church and suspended for praying.
