In an interview with The Daily Caller, author Brad Thor remembered the late conservative activist Andrew Breitbart and urged people to take his place in the battle of ideas.

“We may have lost a general, but the war goes on,” Thor said. “He left big shoes to fill. We all need to step up; we all are Andrew Breitbart, and it is our duty. That man’s family shared him with us, and we owe it to them — we owe it to the country –to all step up.”

“The general falls. The battle’s not over.”

Breitbart passed away March 1 from heart failure, at 43 years old. He is survived by his wife and four children.

“One of the things that I loved about Andrew is that when you were under attack, he was the first guy to go out and turn you around so that the spears, slings and arrows hit him in the back,” Thor said. “He was everybody’s bullet sponge, and he said, ‘You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here with you.'”
