Democrats protest non-Democrats having money

Font Size:

For some reason, Obama has chosen to punctuate his recent run of glamorous fundraisers — Hi, George Clooney! Looking good, Anna Wintour! Don’t change a thing, Sarah Jessica Parker! — with bitter condemnations of the wicked, moneygrubbing Mitt Romney and his greedy pals. As the great David Burge puts it, you’re supposed to be angrier about what Romney does with his own money than what Obama does with yours.

How’s that whole angle working out? CNN reports:

Some 200 protesters, according to local law enforcement officials, gathered Sunday near the residence of billionaire David Koch, who held a private fund-raiser attended by Mitt Romney at his home in Southampton.

The protesters, taking issue with the amount of money Koch and his brother Charles are likely to spend in the race, carried signs and beat drums as they marched along the water near Koch’s residence and chanted, “Our elections aren’t for sale,” and “Whose beach? Our beach.”

Their beach?

That’s 200 people, apparently. As John Hinderaker put it, “That would be a pretty good turnout for a softball game.”

Well, just because the turnout was pathetic doesn’t means they’re not right. Remember: Money is evil unless you’re taking it at gunpoint from the people who earned it. Obama 2012!

If you’re sick of these Croesus-like fatcats taking all the money and stuff, be sure to tell Mr. Clooney at his Obama fundraisers next month in Geneva, Switzerland. It’s only $20,000 a ticket!

P.S. The protest wasn’t a complete bust: two people got arrested trying to crash the party. They failed. Which, in left-think, makes it a success!
