Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is coming to D.C. on Wednesday as the special guest of a Mitt Romney Victory fundraiser at the City Club of Washington, Politico reports.

Walker survived a recall election in early June, defeating labor union efforts to unseat him before the end of his first term. He led his Democratic challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, 54 percent to 45 percent, making Walker the first U.S. governor to survive a recall election.

With the win, Walker went from liability to asset and his triumph may pave the way for Romney to win Wisconsin, making Romney the first GOP candidate to carry the state since Ronald Reagan re-election victory in 1984.
