Have you spent countless hours on YouTube watching cat videos over and over? Be it a feline pianist, a swimming cat or a sleepy kitten? And just when you think there are no more cat videos to be watched, YouTube goes and “recommends” yet another cat video that you MUST watch so you — of course — watch it?

Maybe you are even a step above simply watching cat videos. Perhaps you create your own! Do you ask your cat what sunglasses you should wear? Do you have a cat that fits into really tiny boxes? Maybe you filmed your kitten being frightened by a sneeze.

Whether or not you are a fan of cat videos or are a feline film purveyor yourself, you need to know about the first Internet Cat Video Festival. Yes, seriously.

The festival will take place in a field at the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis, Minn. on August 30. According to the center’s website, the goal of the festival is to gather the normally private cat video contingency and and to “[test] the social boundaries of the online community with a live, off-line event as we attempt to gather in physical space and real time to enjoy one of the internet’s most popular phenomena.”

No longer is cat video watching a solo activity. (Whether or not it should stay that way remains unseen.)

For those of us who don’t live in this utopian flyover state, the festival is allowing audiences from all over the highly-respected Internet community to vote for their favorite cat videos. The deadline for nominations is July 30, so get cracking on those submissions.

Here are a few of our favorite cat videos, for your consideration:
