NBC News to streamline process of telling you stuff that isn’t true while ignoring stuff that is

You may have heard that Microsoft finally washed its hands of MSNBC last week. Maybe now the “MS” part will be replaced with something more accurate, like “Maliciously Stupid.”

Now that Bill Gates has hit the lifeboats, thus begins the process of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Brian Stelter reports:

NBC News and the cable news channels MSNBC and CNBC are being brought under a new corporate umbrella, the NBCUniversal News Group, and a new boss, Patricia Fili-Krushel.

Ms. Fili-Krushel will become the chairman of the news group, the NBCUniversal chief executive Steve Burke said Thursday afternoon…

The NBC News president Steve Capus and the CNBC president Mark Hoffman will continue to run their respective divisions, but rather than reporting directly to Mr. Burke, they will now report to Ms. Fili-Krushel.

Mr. Burke said in an internal memorandum that he wanted to “enhance collaboration” between NBC’s news brands. NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC already work together on a daily basis, a fact that he acknowledged in the memo. “We are creating a structure that should help foster even more cooperation,” he wrote.

In other words, they want to make sure they get their story straight. Less than four months till the election, you know.

MSNBC.com has already been renamed NBCNews.com, and guess who’s running it? Vivian Schiller. Remember her? Remember what she said about Juan Williams after he was fired from NPR for saying stuff they disagreed with on a channel they don’t like?

A lot of people might say that about Juan Williams, but they aren’t his employer. Vivian Schiller was.

So that’s great news for NBC News employees. You don’t have to worry about your boss firing you and then maligning you in public, as long as you continue to toe the liberal-left line. Have fun, kids. And try to ignore that ice-cold water around your ankles!
