I like irony as much as the next blogger, and it’s not like Obama’s “Communications Director” David Axelrod can do his job without being an astonishing hypocrite who hopes just enough people are stupid enough to believe him, but this is beyond Orwellian:

The link goes to a story from ABC News (of course) titled, “Mitt Romney Olympic Archive Still Off-Limits.” Because who knows what sort of crazy shenanigans went on when The Evil Mitt Romney was running the 2002 Winter Olympics:
More than a decade has passed since Mitt Romney presided over the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, but the archival records from those games that were donated to the University of Utah to provide an unprecedented level of transparency about the historic event, remain off limits to the public. And some of the documents that may have shed the most light on Romney’s stewardship of the Games were likely destroyed by Salt Lake Olympic officials, ABC News has learned.
The archivists involved in preparing the documents for public review told ABC News that financial documents, contracts, appointment calendars, emails and correspondence are likely not included in the 1,100 boxes of Olympic records, and will not be part of the collection that will ultimately be made public.
“We don’t have that stuff,” said Elizabeth Rogers, the manuscript curator at the University’s Marriott Library. The decisions about what records to donate to the library were made by Olympics officials before they were shipped in 1,100 boxes to the university, she said. “That was done before we got it. I just know it wasn’t a decision we made. Everything we have will be available.”
The Romney campaign said it has made no effort to prevent the archive from being made public.
Sure, that’s what they want you do think. WHAT IS THE EVIL MITT ROMNEY HIDING??? Maybe he tried to force the U.S. Olympic team to wear top hats and curly mustaches like the little guy in Monopoly.
So ABC runs this nothingburger of a story about Romney, and Axelrod tries to turn it into a transparency issue. Meanwhile, there are vast swaths of Obama’s past that either we don’t know about or we’re not supposed to talk about. Why did he claim to be born someplace he wasn’t, and then said you’d have to be crazy to have believed his lie? Why did he deny working with people he worked with? Why did he deny listening to sermons that inspired the title of one of his various autobiographies? Where are his college transcripts? Etc. Obama floated down from the heavens, immaculate and without flaw, to his rightful place in the Oval Office. And you’d better shut up about it.
Hey, remember when Obama ran the Olympics? Or anything else, for that matter?
Update: I completely forgot about Obama’s experience with the Olympics. In 2009, he and Michelle went to Copenhagen to personally petition the International Olympic Committee to hold the 2016 Summer Olympics in Chicago. It might be worth noting that the 2016 Summer Olympics are not being held in Chicago.
