Group plans ‘National Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick-Fil-A’

It’s that time of year again. The “National Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick Fil A’s” around the country. At least, that’s what some activists are hoping to organize in response to news the restaurant-chain’s founder opposes gay marriage (right now, they’re at 40 Twitter followers!)

According to their Facebook page,

In honor of their support for love, equality, and the real definition of family, we’re holding a NATIONAL Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick Fil A’s around the country. So grab a friend (or 20) and head out to your nearest Chick Fil A! And don’t forget to post photos/videos of it here! For all the world to see!

(This is apparently in response to Mike Huckabee’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day“?)

Interestingly, this idea doesn’t seem wildly popular among the online community. Some view it as stupid or ineffective, others worry it could backfire. Here are a few of the first posts I encountered on the page:
