TAMPA, Fla. — For the second consecutive day, the Fox News Channel on Wednesday beat the broadcast networks in prime time and its cable competition in overall coverage of this year’s Republican National Convention, replicating its Tuesday night success.
The cable news channel is on the verge of winning the ratings for another Republican convention after its 2004 and 2008 successes.
For the primetime portion from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fox News led in overall ratings and the key 25-54 demo against its cable and broadcast competitors.
10-11PM Coverage
FNC: 7,702,578 viewers (2,067,483 in 25-54)
NBC: 4,149,000 viewers (1,492,694 in 25-54)
ABC: 2,858,000 viewers (993,941 in 25-54)
CBS: 2,559,000 viewers (943,519 in 25-54)
MSNBC: 1,440,882 viewers (402,044 in 25-54)
CNN: 1,340,129 viewers (451,370 in 25-54)

Against its cable competitors, it led the way, with CNN and MSNBC having just a fraction of the overall share.

FNC: 5,846,142 viewers (1,421,945 in 25-54)
MSNBC: 1,298,936 viewers (366,743 in 25-54)
CNN: 1,115,395 viewers (341,758 in 25-54)
Another key metric showed Fox News with a peak audience outpacing its cable competition, both in overall audience and in the 25-54 age demographic.
