Former President George W. Bush offered a brief statement on the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on Tuesday.
“On this solemn anniversary, Laura and I hold the victims of September 11th in our thoughts and prayers,” the former president wrote above a picture of a lone firefighter helmet and two flowers on his Facebook page.
Within 30 minutes the statement had over 43,000 “likes” and 2,000 comments.
Bush was president during the 2001 al-Qaida attacks that claimed the lives of over 3,000 Americans.
