Listen as our MSM gatekeepers turn the murder of a U.S. ambassador into an opportunity to ask Romney why he’s so mean

The following is a transcript of open-mic audio from just before Romney’s press conference today. I can’t find an embeddable source for the audio, but you can listen to it at the Right Scoop, who also provided the transcript:

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: …pointing out that the Republicans… *unintelligible* …Obama….

CBS REPORTER: That’s the question.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: *unintelligible*

CBS REPORTER: Yeah that’s the question. I would just say do you regret your question.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Your question? Your statement?

CBS REPORTER: I mean your statement. Not even the tone, because then he can go off on…

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: And then if he does, if we can just follow up and say ‘but this morning your answer is continuing to sound…’ – *becomes unintelligble*

CBS REPORTER: You can’t say that..

**Later**

CBS REPORTER: I’m just trying to make sure that we’re just talking about, no matter who he calls on we’re covered on the one question.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Do you stand by your statement or regret your statement?

They had to make sure to get that in: “A U.S. ambassador was murdered, on the anniversary of 9/11, in a country Obama invaded unilaterally. This happened because Not All Muslims are angry about an American movie that the Cairo embassy apologized for (before Obama apologized for the apology). Oh, and that embassy got attacked too. Wow, this sure does look bad for the guy we want to win the election. It sure does look like he doesn’t know what he’s doing. There must be some way to turn it around on Romney!”

When a Republican administration screws up, that’s the story. When a Democratic administration screws up, the Republican’s response is the story. Divert, deflect, distract. MUST. PROTECT. OBAMA.
