Laura Ingraham: Obama skipping intelligence briefings because ‘he can’t keep Beyonce waiting’ [AUDIO]

During her Thursday radio show, conservative talker Laura Ingraham attacked President Barack Obama for missing more than half of his daily intelligence briefings.

In the wake of violence in Egypt, Libya and Yemen, she said, Obama had made his way to Las Vegas, Nevada for a fundraising trip while most media outlets have been busily criticizing Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Last week, Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen penned an op-ed pointing out that Obama attended his daily intelligence briefing just 536 times during the 1,225 days he has been in office — 43.8 percent of the time.

“The man goes to Vegas! How do you go to Vegas for a fundraising trip?” Ingraham asked. “And they’re talking about Mitt Romney as the problem here? Mitt Romney’s response on Tuesday night was the problem? Mitt Romney did what he needed to do: He needed to train the public’s focus, at that point, on what will change if he is president of the United States.”

“‘We will not be engaging in a perpetual apology tour in our foreign policy. The way we deal with other countries when they commit these heinous acts against us, if they ever thought they could — they will be destroyed. Anyone who breaches our security perimeter at our embassies or consulates should be taken out.”

Ingraham said that although Obama has talked a tough foreign policy game, he is sending the wrong national security message by heading to Vegas during so much unrest in the Middle East.

“So he feels comfortable running to the slots and running to the roulette wheel and running to the — I have to say it — craps tables, when the rest of us feel like we’re gambling away our prestige in the world, any respect we have left among our allies and among those who should fear us,” Ingraham said.

“We’re gambling away our financial security. We’re gambling away our stability and our school systems with this ridiculous hostage crisis we have in Chicago with these unions. And Mitt Romney’s the problem? No intelligence meetings — for how long? How did this go on when we didn’t have intelligence meetings? He’s touting his foreign policy experience on the campaign trail, trying to be Mr. Tough Guy. We’re sending in the ships, we’re sending in the drone attacks.”

And Ingraham took note of what’s taking priority over those daily intelligence briefings.

“You got the elliptical trainer, you know, you’ve got your golf games to fit in. You have your fundraising trips, and you can’t keep Beyoncé waiting!” Ingraham added.
