What’s that you say? Naked photos of Prince Harry emerged just two weeks ago? You’re right. Sorry. To rephrase: Finally, the world gets to see photos of a female British royal without her clothes on.
Alas, this photo scandal isn’t quite as juicy because it involves zero naked billiard/ cocaine activity, but does feature more topless sunbathing on the part of Kate Middleton who is, according to reports, an attractive lady.
Kate and William were just hanging out in a private residence on the French Rivera earlier this year when a creepy photographer with a high-tech telephoto lens snapped the Duchess of Cambridge — from what appears to be two football fields away — sans bikini top.
The royals are said to be furious by the invasion of privacy and are considering a lawsuit against Closer magazine. A palace official released a statement saying that the couple is “saddened” by the photographs.
“The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so. Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”
It does seem unfair that a husband and wife can’t go to the South of France without their privacy being invaded. But it also seems unfair that they don’t really have jobs and can go to the South of France anytime, so c’est la vie.
