Yesterday’s reporting of a hidden camera video posted to YouTube of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney at a Boca Raton, Fla. fundraiser back in May was expected to offer a lot of grist for the cable news mill, but perhaps not in the places one would expect.

A review of the cable news networks’ coverage from 6:00 a.m. ET to 12 noon ET on the media monitoring service TVEyes showed CNN leading the way in the actual number of times the clip from Mother Jones magazine was aired — double that of its competitors MSNBC and the Fox News Channel.

Although MSNBC discussed the clip much more in depth, CNN gave excerpts of the clip much more play, 15 time separate times, than MSNBC and Fox News, both at seven times each.
