Obama offers his World Series prediction

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) — President Barack Obama is offering his prediction for the upcoming World Series.

Obama says during a campaign stop in Virginia that he is “looking forward to a White Sox-Nationals World Series.” The president says, “It’s going to happen.”

The former Illinois senator is a longtime Chicago White Sox baseball fan. The president congratulated supporters in the Virginia suburbs of Washington the day after the Washington Nationals clinched a playoff berth. The White Sox are currently in first place in the American League Central.

Obama spoke at Pfitzner Stadium, home of the minor league Potomac Nationals, a minor league affiliate of the Nationals.
