Replacement referees decide questionable game outcome

Monday night, after a surprisingly strong defensive showing against the veteran Packers, the Seattle Seahawks won in what may be one of the more controversial decisions of recent football time.

Fans were confused when it looked clear that Packers safety M.D. Jennings intercepted the Seahawk’s attempted hail mary in the end zone, however one referee ruled it a touchdown for Seattle’s Golden Tate, while the other referee appeared to be ruling touchback.

In a post game wrap up, commentators were visibly shocked. In a quick press conference after the controversial end, Packer’s coach Mike McCarthy said it was “the most unusual football game I’ve been part of in the NFL.” Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was less diplomatic, saying, “It was awful. Just look at the replay. And then the fact it was reviewed. That’s all I’ll say about it.”
