Jason Aldean, multiplatinum artist and performer of eight number one country hits, has a song on his second album with the lyrics, “I could make some excuses but darlin’ the truth is/ I’m just the reckless kind.”
Perhaps that recklessness is what caused Aldean to cheat on his wife of more than 10 years with Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader and former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr.
Huffington Post reports that the country star confessed to his indiscretions after he was photographed publicly kissing Kerr at a Los Angeles nightclub while in town for a performance. Aldean, who has two daughters with wife Jessica Ussery, posted an apology on his Facebook page, citing excessive alcohol and the club’s party atmosphere as the cause of his wandering eye.
“The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted in inappropriately at a bar,” Aldean wrote. “I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story.”
Aldean may take comfort in knowing that several celebrities who admitted to cheating on their loved ones were eventually taken back and given the “forgive and forget” treatment by their spouses.
Hillary Clinton famously forgave then-President Bill Clinton after the infamous Monica Lewinsky scandal in 1998; Regina Lasko took back David Letterman after he apologized for multiple infidelities on-air in 2010, and People has reported that Kristen Stewart seems to be back in Robert Pattinson’s good graces again.
