Campaign donation records and documents reviewed by The Daily Caller show that the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) – the political group that aims to elect Democrats into state-level attorney general offices around the country – is taking donations from Capital One while, at the same time, funneling cash into a political organization that’s attacking Capital One.

In 2011, Capital One donated $50,000 in two contributions to DAGA, according to donations records. Then, in summer 2012, DAGA gave $30,000 to liberal political group the Committee for American Fairness, DAGA’s Federal Election Commission records show.

On its website, the Committee for American Fairness is currently featuring a political ad supporting West Virginia’s Democratic Attorney General Darrell McGraw for re-election. The ad also simultaneously attacks Capital One, accusing the bank of “deceptive and illegal practices” that McGraw is purportedly fighting against.

Neither CAF nor DAGA returned TheDC’s requests for comment.
