Bruce Springsteen and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are not exactly best buds. But it seems that Superstorm Sandy may have finally brought the Republican governor into the Boss’ good graces. Kind of.

Christie is a legitimate Springsteen superfan, having attended over 127 concerts. But the rocker has not once returned the favor — nor has he ever said anything nice about the leader of his home state.

The blue collar hero is a loud and proud supporter of President Barack Obama and has donated money to his re-election campaign and performed at several of his concerts. This has left poor Christie in a state of unrequited love for years now.

But during a concert in Rochester, N.Y. Wednesday, Springsteen gave a mini shout-out to the governor for handling the disaster, even if he wouldn’t say Christie’s name out loud.

“We’re a band that you can’t separate from the Jersey shore — still basically a glorified bar band … at your service! So we’re gonna do this tonight from our hometown to your hometown. We’ll send this out to all the people working down there: the police officers, the firemen, and also to the governor, who has done such a hard job this past week.”
