Baldwin wins Wisconsin Senate race, will become first openly gay senator

Fox News has called the Wisconsin Senate race for Democratic Rep. Tammy Baldwin.

Baldwin will replace retiring Sen. Herb Kohl, having beaten out former Gov. Tommy Thompson in a hard-fought race.

National Journal ranks Baldwin as among the most liberal members of Congress.

She will be the first openly gay senator.
