By the way, the guy who made the YouTube video that didn’t cause Benghazi just got a year in jail

I realize it doesn’t matter anymore, if it ever did. But it’s worth at least a footnote in the glorious annals of the Obama administration.

LA Times:

The filmmaker behind “Innocence of Muslims,” the anti-Islam film that sparked rioting across the globe*, was sentenced Wednesday to a year behind bars after he admitted to violating the terms of his release from an earlier conviction.

[Name withheld because this is bullshit] admitted to four violations, including lying to his probation officer and using bogus names. In exchange, prosecutors dropped four other counts, which included allegations that [he] lied to federal authorities in telling them his role in the film’s production was limited to writing the script.

[He] was under a type of federal probation known as supervised release after a 2010 conviction on bank and credit card fraud, in which he was accused of causing $800,000 in losses. Prosecutors also said Wednesday that they had agreed not to file new criminal charges based on [his] false statements to his probation officer.

[He] was arrested in late September after a trailer for the film, which portrays the prophet Muhammad as a womanizer and a pedophile, was uploaded onto YouTube and caused widespread outrage. Yet prosecutors and the judge emphasized Wednesday that the film’s message was irrelevant to [his] probation violation case and prison sentence.

“I’m not going to say much about the movie because he’s not here because of the content of the movie,” Assistant U.S. Atty. Robert Dugdale said.

“Agreed,” U.S. District Court Judge Christina Snyder said abruptly, interrupting the prosecutor.

Yeah, gotta make sure you get your story straight. Call it the Candy Crowley Rule.

So: Some guy makes a crappy video and puts it on YouTube. Then, months later — coincidentally enough, on the 11th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks — Muslims riot at our embassies across the Middle East and claim the video made them do it. And in Benghazi, Libya, a group of Islamic terrorists use that cover to stage a highly organized attack on the U.S. consulate, murdering Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans who were serving their country. Stevens had predicted such an attack for months, but his requests for more security were slapped down.

So naturally, Obama blames… the video. Even though he knows that’s a lie. He’s got an election coming up and can’t afford such distractions. He can’t have people thinking there might be a slight problem with his entire approach to foreign policy. So he just flat-out lies about every aspect of the debacle. He knows that with a few rare exceptions, the miserably corrupt press won’t call him on it, and most people will never even hear about it.

If an ambassador falls in Benghazi and nobody cares, does he make a sound?

And that’s exactly what happened. And now, this “Innocence of Muslims” guy gets a year in prison. The day after the election.

Four more years.

Nixon was an amateur.

P.S. And if you think this is the end of it, you’re dreaming. This has only emboldened al-Qaida. Obama’s cowardice is going to get more Americans killed by terrorists.

P.P.S. And no, Los Angeles Times, that stupid video did not “spark rioting.” It covered for the rioting. This was not caused by free speech, you idiots.
