John McCain to reporter on Benghazi: “That’s one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard”

Hat tip to John Nolte for the following clip. It’s tough to hear the reporter’s question, but Nolte summarizes it:

You’ll have to turn the video volume all the way up, but this obtuse reporter seriously seems to suggest to McCain that his Libya inquiry is a big waste of time because the national security issues surrounding the Petraeus affair are what’s really important.

To which McCain replies:

“Well, I say with great respect, that’s one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard. Okay? It’s four dead Americans.”

Yeah, but Petraeus has been acting like Bill Clinton! Why do these wingnuts keep trying to distract us with some dead ambassador or whatever?

As Juan Williams reminded us, with regard to one of the other Obama scandals that the press doesn’t want to cover: “Hey, people die.”
