Leaders with Ginni Thomas: Senator-elect Deb Fischer

Deb Fischer comes to the U.S. Senate in January from her job as a Valentine, Nebraska rancher. She served in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature for eight years.

Fischer defeated two more well-known Republicans in the state’s primary, and then went on to trample former Democratic Gov. Bob Kerry by 16 points on an Election Day when Democrats outperformed many in the GOP.

She won as a conservative Republican despite the messages Democrats tried to drive home about a so-called “war on women.”

Fischer talked with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas about the “fiscal cliff,” what she learned from her campaign, her message for discouraged citizens, that “war on women” and more.
