Huffington Post readers aren’t generally known for their tolerance of conservative contributors, as Andrew Breitbart showed in early 2011. But conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity got an invitation from the liberal-leaning website that could shake things up.

On his radio show Monday during a segment featuring Ann Coulter, Huffington Post Washington bureau chief Ryan Grim carried a request from HuffPo editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington: Come blog for us.

HANNITY: Anyway, to sort out the politics of [the fiscal cliff] and what is in the best interest of the country in terms of solving fiscal problems, Ann Coulter is back with us and she of course is the best-selling author, “Mugged” is her latest book — and Ryan Grim, our friend from The Huffington Post. How are you?
GRIM: I’m doing well.
HANNITY: How’s Arianna doing?
GRIM: Arianna is great. She says hello. Now, she wants you to blog for us, she told me to tell you.
HANNITY: She wants me to blog for The Huffington Post? So I can read all those evil comments, “Hannity sucks” at the end of my great column?
GRIM: We will have five people on it personally moderating. We won’t let one mean thing, one mean thing through, I promise.
HANNITY: No, I don’t mind. I can handle it.
