Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul isn’t particularly excited about a potential Senate run by actress and liberal political activist Ashley Judd.

In an interview on WMAL 105.9 FM’s “Mornings on the Mall” in Washington, D.C., Paul jabbed Judd for splitting her time between the United States and Scotland, where her husband was born.

“I heard she lived in Scotland,” Paul replied. “I thought she was running for Parliament.”

Paul said Judd, who is reportedly considering running for Senate in 2014 or 2016 to represent Kentucky, is too out of step with voters in the state.

Judd is a native of Kentucky and could challenge either Paul or the state’s senior senator, Republican Mitch McConnell.

“I think she’d fit right in in the English Parliament,” Paul said. “I mean, she is way damn too liberal for our country and our state. She hates our state’s biggest industry, which is coal. So I say good luck, and bring in the ‘I hate coal’ message to Kentucky.”

“Here’s the other thing: She’s got to get back and forth between Scotland and Kentucky to campaign,” he added. “They don’t have the Concorde anymore.”
