Students at a high school in southern Israel recently found out that their gym teacher was moonlighting as a dominatrix at a club specializing in sadomasochism, reports The Times of Israel.
The students made the shocking discovery the usual way: They saw the teacher on a reality TV show.
The show, broadcast by the Israeli cable television provider HOT, reportedly features couples vying against each other in a series of contrived challenges.
In the episode involving the gym teacher, the show’s participants paid a visit to an S&M club. A veteran dominatrix wearing a skin-tight leather ensemble gave a lesson on pole dancing and steered the couples through a variety of female-dominance role play.
The men kissed their partners’ feet, among other humiliating acts. The women perfected spanking techniques on the men.
Though the dominatrix wore a mask throughout the episode, students who were watching were able to identify the dominating vixen as their phys-ed teacher.
Aided by Facebook, news of the teacher’s secret second job spread quickly, the Times reported. Eventually — inevitably — the rumor reached school officials.
Administrators suspended the unnamed woman in her 40s because her appearance on the show was “not appropriate to the school’s values,” according to Yedioth Ahronoth, a Tel Aviv newspaper.
Students want the teacher back, though they expect her to lose her job as the result of an upcoming disciplinary hearing.
“We are all talking about it, but really, who cares?” one student told Yedioth Ahronoth. “It is her right to do what she wants in her spare time.”
