Gun Laws & Legislation

In the Land of Unicorns & Rainbows…

Truly, I wish there was a way to end mass murder.  In the land of Unicorns and Rainbows, where the progressives of 2012 desperately long to exist, taking away everyone’s guns would be their magical solution.  In their minds, the citizens of Unicorns and Rainbows would all live in peace and harmony because all those evil, murderous guns would be gone and the bad guys wouldn’t have a way to shoot people.

Unfortunately we live in reality and Man is not (and will never be) perfect.  Even if we took away every last gun on the face of the earth mass murders would still take place.   The hard, cold fact is that if a crazy person wants to kill a group of people, he or she will do so.  Susan Smith didn’t use a gun to kill her children; she used her car and drove them into a lake.  Ted Kaczynski didn’t use guns to kill people; he made bombs in order to fill his sick needs.  The mass murdering Muslims of 9/11 didn’t use guns to attack America; they drove our own airplanes into buildings.  Drunk drivers kill approximately 7000 people per year.  And I won’t even go into detail about the fact that Planned Parenthood performs approximately one abortion every 95 seconds…

Even your perfectly sweet dog will kill a defenseless rabbit because such is the way of life and death in the real world.

I’m not sure why the Obama administration is so determined to take away American’s guns but they are certainly on the fast track to do so now.  They are using the tragedy in Connecticut to influence vulnerable Americans who are looking for solutions—and the solution they’re offering is gun control.

Despite the progressive dream of a Utopian world, there are no solutions when it comes to controlling crazy people.  They have existed since the beginning of Mankind and they will exist through the end of time.  But of course no one in the media is talking about mental illness or the fact that crazy people are wandering the streets untreated because they are too focused on ridding America of inanimate objects called ‘guns.’

In my own personal ‘Unicorns and Rainbow’ world, I would have our government conduct some serious, adult conversations about the need to protect (and not destroy) our 2nd Amendment rights.  Politicians wouldn’t talk about disarming our decent American citizens but would instead talk about arming more people so they’ll be able to defend and protect themselves from the very real, very bad guys who, unfortunately, will always exist in this raw, real world.
