A Senate Democratic aide said that Democrats will not accept a plan to delay sequestration by three months, until March, according to CNBC Washington correspondent John Harwood.

“Senate Dem aide: ‘definitely no deal yet,’ Dems won’t accept 90-day sequester ‘buy-down’ because that ‘just kicks the can down the road’,” Harwood tweeted Monday before noon.

Democrats are joining conservative Republican Michigan Rep. Justin Amash in opposing the delay.

No fiscal cliff deal has yet been made, prompting speculation that lawmakers will possibly delay sequestration by 90 days.
