Nancy Pelosi to make her intentional-comedy debut on 30 Rock

Font Size:

Nancy Pelosi has delighted us for years with her panicked fidgeting, blinking, grimacing, and stammering as she lies outrageously about one thing or another. Now she’s bringing her unique comedy stylings to an actual comedy show. Well, at least that’s how it’s always been billed.

Lisa de Moraes reports:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will make her scripted TV series debut on the series finale of NBC’s “30 Rock…”

Pelosi’s debut can be seen when Tina Fey’s critically-acclaimed comedy series wraps on Thursday, Jan. 31 in a special one-hour episode at 8 p.m., after which NBC will unveil its new Jekyll/Hyde is (are?) a doctor drama, “Do No Harm.”

Presumably, Pelosi’s playing herself in the swan-song episode. NBC would only confirm that she’s appearing in the finale — but then “30 Rock” is notoriously tight-lipped about upcoming episode information.

Either that or she’s portraying Liz Lemon in a flash-forward, 10 years from now.

By the way, “critically-acclaimed” is critic-speak for “unwatched.” The only reason NBC has kept such a low-rated show on the air this long is because Fey was a critics’ darling for maligning a Republican who everybody was supposed to hate. Now that Sarah Palin is no longer a threat, everybody can stop pretending Tina Fey is funny.

Whew!

Update: I take that back. Tina Fey is totally hilarious.
