Apple is preparing to launch two new versions of the iPhone, including a low-cost iPhone 5S, in the second half of 2013, the tech news site BGR reported Tuesday.

The new phone would be aimed at China and other emerging markets, said the publication. Apple is also reportedly working to launch the iPhone on China Mobile’s network.

Consumer Reports, a consumer product review publication, recently noted that the iPhone 5 was being edged out by other top smartphones in the market.

The publication faulted Apple for its mapping service, considering it inferior to Google’s maps offering.
