President Barack Obama will soon nominate White House chief of staff Jack Lew to be the next Treasury secretary, Bloomberg’s Hans Nichols reports.

Lew, who is said to have a rather acrimonious relationship with Senate Republicans, has spent nearly the entirety of his career in government. He served as the director of the Office of Management and Budget in both the Clinton and Obama administrations, and replaced William Daley as chief of staff one year ago.

Frontrunners to replace Lew, according to Bloomberg, include Deputy National Security Advisor Denis McDonough and Ron Klain, a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden.
