Walter E. Williams is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University.

Williams, 76, has been teaching economics at George Mason since 1980. He is also an active political commentator, writing a syndicated column that appears in over 140 newspapers and sometimes serving as the substitute host for Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.

Williams views his role in the political arena as “rattling the cage” and being a “troublemaker.”

The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas recently spoke with Dr. Williams about taxation, out of control government, what he would say if he sat with President Obama, his view on gun control, his friendship with conservative intellectual Thomas Sowell, his desired legacy and much more.
