Restrict the pussy in your life — or at least put a bell on it. That’s the aim of New Zealand environmentalist (and unconfirmed dog person) Gareth Morgan.
In a move that is pawsitive to anger the cat-loving Internet, he has launched a website Cats to Go to convince people to make their current cat their last.
Morgan argues that cats are natural hunters, and that the proliferation of cat ownership in New Zealand is causing cat-astrophic damage to the natural ecosystem.
Whether the kitten hater will get anywhere with his purrfect final solution remains to be seen. Cats, cat memes and general cat appreciation have become ingrained in internet lore. Sites such as Reddit, icanhazcheeseburger and imgur supply hundreds of thousands of images of our furry friends for people to gaze upon in adoration and comment, so the chances are that this proposal has barely a whisker of succeeding. Only time will tail.
