1.) A monstrous allegation — The alleged scandal engulfing Sen. Bob Menendez has just become more graphic. David Martosko and Charles Johnson report for TheDC:

“In a little-noticed email published online Wednesday by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a young Dominican woman wrote nine months ago that she slept with 59-year-old New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez at a series of sex parties organized by Dr. Salomon Melgen, a longtime Menendez campaign donor. ‘That Senator also likes the youngest and newest girls,’ the woman wrote on April 21, 2002, according to an English translation provided to The Daily Caller by a native Spanish speaker. ‘In the beginning he seemed so serious, because he never spoke to anyone, but he is just like the others and has just about the same tastes as the doctor, very refined. I think they were taking us more often to get us checked [medically] because of him.'”

2.) Blame global warming. For everything — Protip: When there’s a problem — any problem — just blame global warming. TheDC’s Jeff Poor reports:

“On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe,’ the Center for American Progress’ Christie Hefner said that Chicago’s sky-high murder rate could be blamed — at least in part — on climate change. ‘Yes, last year we hit a record number of murders from guns [in Chicago],’ Hefner, the former chairwoman and chief executive officer of Playboy Enterprises, said. ‘And this year we are already outpacing last year’s numbers. Now, there are contributing factors that are not under anybody’s control and may seem odd, but it is factually true. One of them is actually the weather. There is a dramatic increase in gun violence when it is warmer. And we are having this climate change effect that is driving that.'”

Kids, take note. Why didn’t you do your homework? Global warming, obviously. You failed a test? Sure you didn’t study, but also remember you took it while suffering under global warming. You punched your principal in the face? Everyone knows that’s a predictable consequence of global climate change, duh!

3.) Blame Bush! Repeat. Forever — If you get tired of blaming things on global warming and want to mix it up, you can always blame George W. Bush or the GOP. TheDC’s Neil Munro reports:

“White House officials and Democrats are blaming the GOP and Hurricane Sandy for the stunning late-2012 shrinkage in the nation’s economy. … The apparent contraction was announced Wednesday morning when the federal Bureau of Economic Advisers estimated the nation’s gross domestic product nudged down 0.1 in the last three months of 2012. … Brad Woodhouse, the spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, pushed a more explicitly partisan version of the same theme via twitter. ‘GOP holds econ hostage over debt ceiling. Deal to avert crisis includes steep spending cuts they wanted. Economy slows. Blame Obama. #unreal,’ he tweeted at 9.45.”

You may say this doesn’t sound like leadership, but you would be wrong. Remember, in this administration leadership is defined as leading from behind, which we used to call following. But under this new definition of leadership, Team Obama is a wild success.

4.) The youth like the guns — Young Americans are apparently more protective of gun rights than older Americans. Jessica Stanton reports for TheDC:

“A vast majority of young adults under the age of 34 believe that Americans have a right to own an ‘assault weapon,’ according to a new Reason-Rupe poll released Thursday. Seventy percent of 18-24 year-olds and 58 percent of 24-34 year-olds indicated the government ‘should allow the private ownership of assault weapons.’ But a majority of older Americans disagree, with 57 percent of 55-64 year-olds and 61 percent of people over the age of 65 asserting that ‘assault weapons should be prohibited.'”

Surprising.

5.) Tweet of Yesterday — Michael Goldfarb: Borderline criminal that the press has let the Menendez scandal fester this long without any real attention–except mocking the Daily Caller

6.) Today in North Korean News –BREAKING: “Kim Jong Un Receives Messages and Letters from Difference Countries”
