On his Friday night broadcast, HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher said Muslims who mistreat women can “fucking go to hell.”

Maher began the conversation by discussing with his guest, Daily Beast editor-in-chief Tina Brown, how impressed he was with Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani student who was shot by the Taliban.

“She’s like Obama with a teleprompter,” Maher said. “She really is.”

Maher then minced no words to describe the many Muslim cultures that mistreat women.

“These are the kind of people we are attacking with the drones,” he said. “I’m not saying there is collateral damage, and that’s horrible, but a lot of them you know, they do want to kill us. And when they’re not trying to get us, that’s what they’re doing — they’re beheading women for listening to the radio. They can fucking go to hell.”

“Whenever you get into this subject about people in different parts of the world, especially the Muslim world — I always get a lot of feedback from people,” he continued. “They say, ‘People are just different. You know, no one is superior to one another.’ You know, Mitt Romney waded into this in the campaign. Remember, he was in Israel and he said, ‘Look at the disparity economically between the Israelis and the Palestinians.’ And he said, ‘Culture matters.’ You know, I thought a broken clock is right twice a day. I think he’s right.”

Brown argued culture could be changed, and pointed to the backlash in Pakistan for Yousafzai’s sake. She also alluded to the rape case in India involving seven men, which led to a significant public protest. But Maher wasn’t c convinced.

“But that’s a Hindu country,” he replied. “I mean, I’m not sure it would arouse the population the same way in every Muslim country.”
