CNN anchor thinks global warming might just cause an asteroid to hit the Earth

It’s often said that there’s no such thing as a stupid question.

It’s also said that rules are made to be broken.

Courtesy of Newsbusters, here’s “award-winning CNN correspondent” Deb Feyerick on Saturday, attempting to segue from Nemo to the asteroid that’s supposed to just barely miss hitting us:

Well, we’re gonna bring in our science guy, Bill Nye. And talk about something else that’s falling from the sky, and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, global warming, or is this just some meteoric occasion?

Hey, if you can convince yourself that global warming causes blizzards, why wouldn’t it magically attract asteroids? The whole thing is about Gaia punishing us for our hubris, after all. Blizzards, hurricanes, heat waves, cold snaps, volcanoes, Honey Boo Boo, asteroids… you name it, global warming causes it. Sky gods angry! Flee! AIIIIIEEEEEE!!!

Fortunately, President of the Environment Al Gore has a plan to save us all, and he’s suiting up right now:

You’re welcome, Earth. Again.
