Following his State of the Union address to Congress and the nation on Tuesday evening, President Barack Obama is scheduled to appear in a Google+ Hangout Thursday.

Dubbed a “Fireside Hangout,” Obama’s Google+ hangout is expected to be similar to the Fireside Hangouts hosted by Vice President Joe Biden and White House Domestic Policy Director Cecilia Munoz in recent weeks.

The chat will begin on 4:50 p.m. EST on Thursday. Google users are encouraged to post a video question to YouTube by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Immediately following the State of the Union, a panel comprised of senior White House staff will answer questions submitted about the speech, according to an official White House blog post on Monday.

President Obama has been criticized in the past by Republicans for supposedly taking only friendly questions during similar social media events.
