Mitt Romney will make his return to the national stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on March 14.

Since President Barack Obama bested him to win re-election in November, the former Massachusetts governor has kept a low profile, popping up only occasionally to fill his gas tank, watch Manny Pacquiao get knocked out, and eat pizza.

He also made a few low-key visits to Washington from his home in La Jolla, Ca., meeting with President Obama and with members of his campaign team.

But next month, he will make his return to the national spotlight at CPAC.

“I look forward to saying thank you to the many friends and supporters who were instrumental in helping my campaign,” Romney said in a press release Wednesday.

“We look forward to hearing Governor Romney’s comments on the current state of affairs in America and the world, and his perspective on the future of the conservative movement,” added  Al Cardenas, chairman of the American Conservative Union, which puts on CPAC.

CPAC will be held just outside of Washington, D.C., March 14-16, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.

As in years past, the event will feature speeches from conservative politicians and commentators, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
