Reacting to New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie’s record approval rating, Democratic New Jersey Rep. Rob Andrews said he agrees with the way Christie is handling the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

“Overall, I have some questions, but on the storm, particularly, I do approve of the job he’s doing, because he put politics aside and tried to do the right thing for the people of the state,” Andrews, a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, told The Daily Caller at the Capitol on Thursday.

“I don’t agree with him on education or property taxes, but I do agree with the way he’s handling the storm.”

Christie’s 74 percent approval rating is the highest of any New Jersey governor in the 17 years Quinnipiac has conducted the poll.
