Chinese Communist Party member misses flight, goes totally batcrap

Font Size:

Airports aren’t fun places, and nobody likes missing a flight. But most of us can handle it a lot better than this dude:

A blog called Beijing Cream has some background:

We all know the stress of traveling, but how many of us, after missing a flight, would start banging on doors and kicking tables like this guy?

How many of us have the power to do so?

This man is a CPPCC committee member of Shizong county in Yunnan province, say netizens, identified as Yan Linkun. We’re told that airport security is currently investigating the matter.

Sounds like it was one of those “Don’t you know who I am???” situations.

He has since apologized:

“My irrational actions and rudeness have caused some losses to the airport as well as bad effects to the public, so I sincerely apologize to the airport and public,” he said to Wang Jinsheng, the airport’s deputy manager. “I am willing to compensate.”

I think that goes beyond “irrational actions and rudeness,” but maybe something was lost in the translation.

He’s been suspended from his job and may face criminal charges. Wonder if that would’ve happened if the whole world wasn’t watching?

If he’d done this in America, he would’ve gotten a taser to the nuts. And then he’d get his own reality show.
