Former Smiths’ frontman and insufferable vegan Morrissey made headlines last week after he landed a scored a “victory for the animals” after the Staples Center purportedly agreed to refrain from serving meat at any of the food vendors during his concert.

It turned out that the catering backstage would only be vegetarian, but sure, that’s a small victory for the animals too. (RELATED: Actually, the Staples Center will serve meat at that Morrissey concert after all)

Now, Morrissey has canceled his scheduled appearance this Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” because the  other late night guests include “animal serial killers” — the cast members of A&E’s popular reality series “Duck Dynasty.”

“Duck Dynasty” is about a family of self-proclaimed rednecks from north Louisiana who sit around all day hand-making duck calls and then hunt things like ducks, hogs, deer — you name it, because they are from Louisiana and that’s what they eat.

According to The Washington Post, Morrissey sent out a statement saying, “As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away.”

Seeing as “Duck Dynasty” is A&E’s most popular series and one of the most popular reality series on TV (it has easily beat out “Survivor” and “X Factor” in ratings)  and Morrissey is an aging, pedantic emo singer, Kimmel has a difficult choice to make.
