President Barack Obama, November 2011: “I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts”

To follow up on my previous post, John Sexton points out more evidence that Obama has been lying about the sequester. Here he is in Nov. ’11:

“I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts.” But then, when it came time for those automatic spending cuts to kick in, he blamed the same people he always blames.

It would be quicker to list the things Obama has told the truth about. Ever. But he doesn’t see it that way. Everything that comes out of his mouth is true at the moment he says it, with no regard for anything he says before or after.

And if you notice that what he’s saying now is the exact opposite of what he was saying then, as if he never said it, that’s your fault.

Obama has gotten away with telling one massive, egregious lie after another, and the press has given him a pass. Is this where they draw the line? Is this where they start to heed whatever vestigial remnants of shame that still cling to their reptilian brainpans?

I kinda doubt that this is the point where they finally say, “We don’t work for you, Mr. President. We work for our audience, and they deserve the truth.” But anything’s possible.
