Emperor Michael Bloomberg has worked diligently to free New Yorkers from the burden of making choices about tobacco, salt, trans fats, drinks containing high-fructose corn syrup, and whether or not to breastfeed babies. And his grateful subjects have spent all the free time they would’ve spent making such choices on much more productive pursuits.
Not among them: learning how to read and write.

When they graduated from city high schools, students in a special remedial program at the Borough of Manhattan Community College couldn’t make the grade.
They had to re-learn basic skills — reading, writing and math — first before they could begin college courses.
No wonder they don’t realize Bloomberg is a fascist. They can’t even spell it.
