In the ninth inning of Canada’s 10-3 defeat of Mexico in pool play on Saturday at the World Baseball Classic at Chase Field in Phoenix, an ugly brawl erupted after Canada’s Rene Tosoni was hit by a pitch from Mexico’s Arnold Leon.

Leon appeared to pitch inside at Tosoni prior to hitting him, which seemed to instigate the bench-clearing brawl. The game, which was televised on the MLB Network, showed players throwing haymakers and being tossed around on both sides.

Fans also got involved in the action by throwing items on to the field, and according to some reports, fights started in the stands.
