It turns out that silky-smooth singer Billy Joel is pretty cool.
The legendary musician was giving a talk and playing some of his songs at a small venue at Vanderbilt University in January when a timid young student asked if he could accompany Joel on the piano as he sang his favorite song: “New York State of Mind.”
Joel said yes, and this what went down:
